D1 :  SIEM REAP: SIEM REAP HOTEL
Morning arrival at the airport in Siem Reap. Welcoming and transfer to your hotel. Visit Siem Reap?s town and also some stone carving from Les Artisans d? Angkor and Les Senteurs d?Angkor
, the market Psaar Leu and Wat Bo pagoda. Hotel Siem Reap.

D2 :  SIEM REAP – Bantey SREI – PHNOM KULEN THE PAGODA
Departure to the countryside to visit Bantey Srei, the Citadel of the women, beautiful Khmer edifice of the Xth century, we continue to reach the mountain of Phnom Kulen. By the pilgrims way we trek to the top of Phnom Kulen. Lunch and swimming at the waterfall. In the afternoon, walking through the forest and villages. Overnight in a traditional house or at the pagoda on top of the mountain (350 m). (3h walk, climb +350 m).

D3 :  PHNOM KULEN – SRAH DUMREI – BENG MEALE VILLAGE
At early morning we plunge into a colorful surrounding such as high grass meadow, limestone clearing and deep jungle, to discover the exceptional site of Srah Dumrei, immense monolith sandstone of the Xth century representing elephants and lions, lost in the deep jungle. We leave the summit of the mountain with a vehicle for the temple of Beng Mealea, lost temple in the jungle. Explore this temple, walk around the trenches of the site to discover the village of Beng Mealea. Night spent in the village with the natives. (3h walk, climb -50m)

D4 :  TONLE SAP FLOATING HOUSE
Departure to the lake and walk. We explore on a wooden boat the Tonle Sap, the Great Lake of Cambodia and its floating villages.  Every year, the water level of the great lake changes from 4 to 8 m, overflowing land and forest. Cruising on the great lake and discovering the floating village and fishing?s techniques.  Cruise back to Siem Reap and overnight in a hotel in Siem Reap.

D5 : SIEM REAP HOTEL
Start the visit of the main temples of Angkor Wat on the small and great circuit by tuktuk. Dinner show with Apsara dance at Angkor Village Theater. Night in h?tel. (3h walk in the temples)

D6 : SIEM REAP: HOTEL ANGKOR VAT
We continue the visit of the main temples of Angkor Wat. Little stroll on the bicycle across the forest of Angkor, avoiding the main road on unpaved roads to join the temples (easy biking ride). Relax at the end of the day with 1 hour of aromatherapy massage at Frangipani SPA

16 days cycling cambodia Angkor, river and mountains

2012 January 9

D1- Phnom Penh
Arrival in Phnom Penh. Meeting of our staff at the airport and transfer to the city. First discovery of the Cambodian capital. Night at Hotel.

D2 ? Visit of the National Museum and Silver Pagoda. Ride on a rickshaw through the town. At sunset excursion with the boat on the Mekong river. Night at Hotel.

D3 ? The coast of the Gulf of Siam
Departure by bus for the province of Takeo, known for its countless ricefields scattered with palmtrees. Discover a temple of the XI century. Cross the province of Kampot and visit the very old site of Kampong Tralach, with its pagoda craved in a topografic karst.
By bike we cross the ricefields to join the sea at Kep, old colonial town. Night in a guesthouse in Kep. 40 to 60 km cycling.

D4- Boattrip to a lonely island with white sand. Swimming and lunch. Return to Kep and get on the bikes to discover the regions of Kep and Kampot. Night at the guesthouse in Kep. 30 km cycling.

D5- Morning free at your leisure then heading back by public bus to Phnom Penh (250 km). Night at the Hotel.

D6 ?Battambang
Departure with Public bus through the provinces of Kampong Chhnang and Pursat to join the city of Battambang (300 km). After lunch we cross the country side on cycling and visit Phnom Banon, temple of the XI century, situated on top of the hill. Enjoy a panoramique view of the rice fields of Battambang. We are heading now to the Phnom Sampeaou (mountain of the Sampan), to visit a pagoda and cave on the top. Night in Battambang. 40 km cycling 

D7- We cycle to the temple of Vat Ek of the XI century situated in a bucolic landscape. On the way, visit of the traditional villages along the river. Afternoon, we take a small train across the ricefields to visit a village cultivating rice. Night at Hotel in Battambang. 30 km cycling.

D8 ?Lake of Tonle Sap
Departure on the boat to cruise down the Sangker river until the Tonle Sap lake. Visit of the floating villages of Prek Toal and Chong Khnea. Night in a houseboat.

D9 ?Every year, the level of the Tonle Sap varies between 4 to 8 m and inundates land end forest of this region (from July to January). According to the season, we can penetrate with canoes in to the inundated forests of the Tonle Sap. If the water level i slow, we discover with canoes the bird sanctuary of Prek Toal, labeled by the UNESCO. We leave behind us the lake and take again our bikes to ride along the river across traditional fishing villages to get to Siem Reap, capital on the border of Angkor Wat. Cycling around town. Night at the Hotel in Siem Reap. 20 km cycling.

D10- Temples of Angkor
With the bikes, first discovery of the main temples of Angkor Wat, across small trails and forest. Sunset at Pre Rup temple. Night at Hotel in Siem Reap. 40 km cycling.

D11- Visit of the royal city of Angkor Thom with the famous Bayon, temple situated in the center on each side 3 km distance to the wall. Walking and cycling further to smaller temples, isolated in the forest.
Dinner show with the traditional khmer Apsara dancers. Night at Hotel in Siem Reap. 40 km cycling.

D12 –   Cycling in the countryside and on the Old Royal Route, to discover the lost temple Chao Srei Vibol. Visit of the temple and the pagoda. We carry on to the Roluos temples across the villages ? visit of the Bakong mountain temple. We sleep in a typical Khmer house in the village. (50km cycling)

D13-    Departure to the lost temple Beng Melea, still caught in the deep jungle. Visit of the temple. Transfer to the Phnom Kulen Mountain. Cycling up the Holly Mountain of Phnom Kulen to the summit, the sacred mountain of the Khmer. Lunch and bath at the waterfall. In the afternoon, we are cycling across the forest and the villages. Bivouac in a village with the inhabitants or in the pagoda at the summit of the mountain (40-60km cycling, level + 350m)

D14     Cycling or trekking across the jungle, the plain of limestone and high grasses to discover deep in the jungle the exceptional site Srah Dumrei, imposing monoliths (elephant and tiger) of 6 m height made of sandstone, dating 10th century.
We leave the mountain to head on to Kbal Spean, the sculptured river of the ?Thousand Lingas?, discover by foot the site. Then visit of the temple Bantey Srei and the village at sunset. We return to Siem Reap to spend the night at the Hotel. (60km cycling, level -350/trekking+150 m)

D15 ? Return to Siem Reap.
Visit Siem Reap town. Cycling to Pouk to visit the Silk National Center. Ride along the villages. 1h massage at Frangipani SPA http://www.frangipanisiemreap.com. Hotel in Siem Reap

D16-  Departure
Transfer to international Siem Reap airport.

During your stay in Siem Reap, you will have, of course, the opportunity to visit the main temples of Angkor through the ?small? and ?big? circuits of the archaeological park: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Terraces of Lepper King and Elephants etc.

14 Days Trekking Cambodia Angkor and Mondokiri Mountain

Day 1 :        Arrival at Siem Reap. You meet your guide at the airport. Transfer to the Hotel. Rest of the day, free to visit the town. Dinner at your leisure. Night at the Hotel in Siem Reap. (-)

Day 2:         Trekking in the countryside and on the Old Royal Route, to discover the lost temple Chao Srei Vibol. Visit of the temple and the pagoda. We carry on to the Roluos temples across the villages ? visit of the Bakong mountain temple. We sleep in a typical Khmer house in the village. (3-4 hours trekking). (B,L,D)

Day 5:         You leave the Hotel on the bikes to head on to the South Gate of Angkor Thom to discover the ramparts (6 km long) of this old city, still covered by the jungle to get to the tower of the 4 faces, the Bayon temple. We take lunch. Visit of Angkor Thom, the great royal city. Visit of Ta Phrom and trekking along the Baray, to get to Ta Nei and the famous Preah Khan and 1h massage at Frangipani APA. Night at the Hotel in Siem Reap (4 h, 3 h spent in the temples and 1 cycling day). (B,L,D)

Day 6:         The morning is dedicated to Angkor Wat. We take lunch there. Transfer to the isolated temple Bantey Samr?, trekking along the dike of the Baray to discover the villages. We arrive at the Royal Basin of Srah Sang for sunset. Night spent in Siem Reap. (4 ? 5 h trekking). (B,L,D)

Day 7:         We walk along the Siem Reap river up to the lake, to discover the multicoloured villagers life. Every year, the water level of the Tonle Sap, the Big Lake of Cambodia, varies from 4 to 8 m, inundating land and forest of this region from August to January. The wooden dugout canoes will allow us to get inside the forests. If the water level is low, we will discover the floating villages and cruise up the Sangker River, along the bird sanctuary of Prek Toal. Visit of other floating villages to observe the fishing technique, fishpond and crocodile breeding. We bivouac in a village. (B,L,D)

                   The program of this journey can be modified according to the hydrological conditions.

Day 8:         We return by boat and depart for Kompong Thom and  Kompong Cham. (B,L,D)

Day 9:         Departure with a van to Sen Monorom (province of Mondolkiri). In case of bad road conditions, we might use a pick-up (4×4). At evening, visit of the village and it?s surrounding. Night spent in a guesthouse in Sen Monorom. (B,L,D)

Day 10:       Journey of trekking and on elephant back in this wild region to admire it?s many waterfalls.  We cross the jungle covered hills to meet the Phnong, a minority ethnic population. We watch the way they grow their rice on the dry ground and how they are weaving. Lunch is taken near a waterfall lost in the jungle. We continue trekking and on elephant back and spend the night with the villagers or bivouacking in the jungle if the conditions allow it. (journey of trekking and elephant riding). (B,L,D)

Day 11:       Trekking starts early in the morning in this wild animal region. We cross forests and hills, stop and relax at a waterfall. In the afternoon, we climb up the hill of Sen Monorom to visit the pagoda and enjoy the panoramic view. Return to Sen Monorom. Night spent in the guesthouse of Sen Monorom (4 h walking). (B,L,D)

Day 12:       Departure by minibus or pick-up (4×4) for Kratie, old colonial town of the Mekong. Visit of the waterfalls of Kampi. By canoe we cruise on the Mekong to watch the dolphins. Night spent in Kratie. (B,L,D)

Day 13:       Early morning visit of the old colonial town Kratie (2 h walking). We take a bus to Phnom Penh. Cruise the Mekong at PHN for the sunset and spend the night in a Hotel in Phnom Penh. (B,L)

Day 14:       Visit of the National Museum, Silver Pagoda and ?Russian? market for last shopping opportunity (2 h walking). Night spent in the Hotel. Transfer to the airport for your international return flight. (B)

Day 1: ARRIVAL – HO CHI MINH CITY (-/-/-)
Upon arrival, you will be welcome by our guide & driver at airport then driven to your hotel for the check-in.
The rest of time, you will be free on your own to refresh after a long flight.

Day 2: HALF-DAY OF SIGHTSEEING + CU CHI TUNNELS (B/-/-)
In the morning, after having breakfast you will be picked up at hotel then take a half-day of city tour around Ho Chi Minh City with visits of the Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office, a lacquer-ware factory, and the bustling Chinatown with Binh Tay Market, Thien Hau Pagoda is not be missed as well.
In the afternoon, you will be transferred about 30km north-west of Ho Chi Minh City to Cu Chi town. Cu Chi tunnels were used as the base from which the Vietnamese mounted their operations of the Tet Offensive in 1968. The Cu Chi Tunnels consist of more than 200km of underground tunnels. This main axis system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and entrances to other tunnels, the tunnels are between 0.5 to 1m wide, just enough for a person to crawl along.
Transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 3: FULL-DAY TO MY THO + BEN TRE (B/L/-)
In the morning, you will be transferred to My Tho, take a boat trip downstream to Ben Tre through floating market, where you have the opportunities to meet the locals there to learn about their daily life in Mekong Delta then take an outlook of natural sceneries along banks of river with coconut candy mill, fruit gardens followed by fruit tasting, rice paper mill… Biking or sitting on horse carriage to weave around the zigzag village roads. Later on, we will enjoy a lunch served at a local restaurant on island with local specialty of “Deep fried Elephant – Eared fish”. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 4: HO CHI MINH CITY ? PHNOM PENH (B/-/-)
At leisure until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for departure flight to Phnom Penh.
Upon arrival at Phnom Penh Airport by morning flight, you will be welcome by our friendly tour guide then accompany you to the hotel. The capital city of Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm. A city tour acquaints us with some major sights of Phnom Penh. This morning start visit Wat Phnom (rebuild in 1434, 1806, 1894 and 1926), a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh. Then visit Yeay Penh?s statue (grand mother Penh) at southwest of the hills, who found four statues of the Buddha and she was build a hill or Phnom in AD 1372 for placed a shrine on top to the house the precious artifacts. The Victory Monument, build in 1955, it is the symbolize Cambodian Independence regained from French colonialism in 1953. Then visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Lunch at local restaurant on your own.

PM: In the afternoon, visit National Museum, it was build in 1917and designed in Khmer style by famed French architect Georges Groslier & Ecole Des Arts. The museum has a good collection of Khmer sculptures dating from the pre-Angkor period (4th centuries) to post-Angkor period (14th centuries). Then visit Royal Palace; built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, Silver Pagoda, Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. When you exit from the Royal Palaces, Then continue your visit to the riverfront, it is the most popular place for the tourist. The view of the confluence of Mekong and Tonle Sap River is the geographically unique.

Day 5: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP (B/-/-)

AM: Visit the notorious Killing Fields ” Choeung Ek” 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This one is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975?1979). Then return back on the way drop and visit to the handicraft shop, spa and vocational training restaurant. This place was created in 1996 by Pour un Sourire d? Enfant (PSE) www.pse.asso.fr. Is the NGO that aims to rescue Cambodian children who are forced to scavenge through the rubbish dumps to survive, especially around Steung Mean Chey garbage dump in Phnom Penh. Today we prefer you to have your own lunch over there.

PM: Visit Central Market (Phsar Thom Thmei), the distinctive art-deco styling of this market makes it stand out among the architecture of Phnom Penh, where you can shop for souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, silver products, then transfer to Phnom Penh Airport for short flight to Siem Reap. On arrival met and transfer to hotel for check in. The town of Siem Reap is our base for visiting the world famous temples of the ancient city Angkor, which is home for the capital of the powerful Khmer Empire dating from 802 AD to 1350 AD. Day 7: SIEM REAP – Departure (B/-/-)

AM: Visit Ta Prohm, one of the area?s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Neak Pean, a fountain built in the middle of a pool (representing the paradisiacal Himalayan mountain-lake), Ta Som, built in late 12th century C.E. the most distant temple on the grand circuit, small but classic. Preah Khan temple, Built by the King Jayavarman VII. Lunch at local restaurant on your own.

PM: Visit the unique interior brick sculptures of Prasat Kravan, Srah Srang (“The Royal Baths” was once used for ritual bathing), Banteay Kdei (surrounded by 4 concentric walls), Ta Keo, constructed in late 10th early 11th century C.E, the first temple to be constructed wholly of sandstone. Then transfer to Siem Reap Airport for departure to next destination by evening flight.

16 days cycling cambodia Angkor, river and mountains

D1- Phnom Penh
Arrival in Phnom Penh. Meeting of our staff at the airport and transfer to the city. First discovery of the Cambodian capital. Night at Hotel.

D2 ? Visit of the National Museum and Silver Pagoda. Ride on a rickshaw through the town. At sunset excursion with the boat on the Mekong river. Night at Hotel.

D3 ? The coast of the Gulf of Siam
Departure by bus for the province of Takeo, known for its countless ricefields scattered with palmtrees. Discover a temple of the XI century. Cross the province of Kampot and visit the very old site of Kampong Tralach, with its pagoda craved in a topografic karst.
By bike we cross the ricefields to join the sea at Kep, old colonial town. Night in a guesthouse in Kep. 40 to 60 km cycling.

D4- Boattrip to a lonely island with white sand. Swimming and lunch. Return to Kep and get on the bikes to discover the regions of Kep and Kampot. Night at the guesthouse in Kep. 30 km cycling.

D5- Morning free at your leisure then heading back by public bus to Phnom Penh (250 km). Night at the Hotel.

D6 ?Battambang
Departure with Public bus through the provinces of Kampong Chhnang and Pursat to join the city of Battambang (300 km). After lunch we cross the country side on cycling and visit Phnom Banon, temple of the XI century, situated on top of the hill. Enjoy a panoramique view of the rice fields of Battambang. We are heading now to the Phnom Sampeaou (mountain of the Sampan), to visit a pagoda and cave on the top. Night in Battambang. 40 km cycling 

D7- We cycle to the temple of Vat Ek of the XI century situated in a bucolic landscape. On the way, visit of the traditional villages along the river. Afternoon, we take a small train across the ricefields to visit a village cultivating rice. Night at Hotel in Battambang. 30 km cycling.

D8 ?Lake of Tonle Sap
Departure on the boat to cruise down the Sangker river until the Tonle Sap lake. Visit of the floating villages of Prek Toal and Chong Khnea. Night in a houseboat.

D9 ?Every year, the level of the Tonle Sap varies between 4 to 8 m and inundates land end forest of this region (from July to January). According to the season, we can penetrate with canoes in to the inundated forests of the Tonle Sap. If the water level i slow, we discover with canoes the bird sanctuary of Prek Toal, labeled by the UNESCO. We leave behind us the lake and take again our bikes to ride along the river across traditional fishing villages to get to Siem Reap, capital on the border of Angkor Wat. Cycling around town. Night at the Hotel in Siem Reap. 20 km cycling.

D10- Temples of Angkor
With the bikes, first discovery of the main temples of Angkor Wat, across small trails and forest. Sunset at Pre Rup temple. Night at Hotel in Siem Reap. 40 km cycling.

D11- Visit of the royal city of Angkor Thom with the famous Bayon, temple situated in the center on each side 3 km distance to the wall. Walking and cycling further to smaller temples, isolated in the forest.
Dinner show with the traditional khmer Apsara dancers. Night at Hotel in Siem Reap. 40 km cycling.

D12 –   Cycling in the countryside and on the Old Royal Route, to discover the lost temple Chao Srei Vibol. Visit of the temple and the pagoda. We carry on to the Roluos temples across the villages ? visit of the Bakong mountain temple. We sleep in a typical Khmer house in the village. (50km cycling)

D13-    Departure to the lost temple Beng Melea, still caught in the deep jungle. Visit of the temple. Transfer to the Phnom Kulen Mountain. Cycling up the Holly Mountain of Phnom Kulen to the summit, the sacred mountain of the Khmer. Lunch and bath at the waterfall. In the afternoon, we are cycling across the forest and the villages. Bivouac in a village with the inhabitants or in the pagoda at the summit of the mountain (40-60km cycling, level + 350m)

D14     Cycling or trekking across the jungle, the plain of limestone and high grasses to discover deep in the jungle the exceptional site Srah Dumrei, imposing monoliths (elephant and tiger) of 6 m height made of sandstone, dating 10th century.
We leave the mountain to head on to Kbal Spean, the sculptured river of the ?Thousand Lingas?, discover by foot the site. Then visit of the temple Bantey Srei and the village at sunset. We return to Siem Reap to spend the night at the Hotel. (60km cycling, level -350/trekking+150 m)

D15 ? Return to Siem Reap.
Visit Siem Reap town. Cycling to Pouk to visit the Silk National Center. Ride along the villages. 1h massage at Frangipani SPA http://www.frangipanisiemreap.com. Hotel in Siem Reap

D16-  Departure
Transfer to international Siem Reap airport.

During your stay in Siem Reap, you will have, of course, the opportunity to visit the main temples of Angkor through the ?small? and ?big? circuits of the archaeological park: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Terraces of Lepper King and Elephants etc.

Day 1: ARRIVAL – PHNOM PENH(-/-) Phnom Penh in Cambodia
AM: Upon arrival at Phnom Penh Airport by morning flight, you will be welcome by our friendly tour guide then accompany you to the hotel. The capital city of Phnom Penh was once considered the loveliest city of Indochina. Despite its recent turbulent history, it still maintains considerable charm. A city tour acquaints us with some major sights of Phnom Penh. This morning start visit Wat Phnom (rebuild in 1434, 1806, 1894 and 1926), a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh. Then visit Yeay Penh?s statue (grand mother Penh) at southwest of the hills, who found four statues of the Buddha and she was build a hill or Phnom in AD 1372 for placed a shrine on top to the house the precious artifacts. The Victory Monument, build in 1955, it is the symbolize Cambodian Independence regained from French colonialism in 1953. Then visit Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Lunch at local restaurant

PM: In the afternoon, visit National Museum, it was build in 1917and designed in Khmer style by famed French architect Georges Groslier & Ecole Des Arts. The museum has a good collection of Khmer sculptures dating from the pre-Angkor period (4th centuries) to post-Angkor period (14th centuries). Then visit Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, Silver Pagoda, Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. When you exit from the Royal Palaces, Then continue your visit to the riverfront, it is the most popular place for the tourist. Day 2: PHNOM PENH – SIGHTSEEING TOURS(B/-/-)

Angkor 01AM: Visit the notorious Killing Fields ” Choeung Ek” 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This one is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975?1979). Then return back on the way drop and visit to the handicraft shop, spa and vocational training restaurant. This place was created in 1996 by Pour un Sourire d? Enfant (PSE) www.pse.asso.fr. Is the NGO that aims to rescue Cambodian children who are forced to scavenge through the rubbish dumps to survive, especially around Steung Mean Chey garbage dump in Phnom Penh. Today we prefer you to have lunch over there.

PM: Visit Central Market (Phsar Thom Thmei), the distinctive art-deco styling of this market makes it stand out among the architecture of Phnom Penh, where you can shop for souvenirs, clothes, jewelry, silver products, etc. Dinner at local restaurant,

Day 3: PHNOM PENH – SIEM REAP(B/-/-)

AM: Transfer to Siem Reap by morning flight (FT992@ 0930-1020). The town of Siem Reap is our base for visiting the world famous temples of the ancient city Angkor, which is home for the capital of the powerful Khmer Empire dating from 802 AD to 1350 AD. This stunning and extensive site sprawls through the dense jungle, over an area of 60 square miles. On arrival met and transfer direct to hotel for check in. Visit the antique capital of Angkor Thom (12 century): the South Gate with its huge statues depicting the churning of the ocean of milk, the Bayon TemAngkor wat complexple, unique for its 54 towers decorated with over 200 smiling faces of Avolokitesvara, the Phimeanakas, the Royal Enclosure, the Elephants Terrace and the Terrace of the Leper King. Lunch at local restaurant

PM: Visit Angkor National Museum & to the famous temple: Angkor Wat. Angkor Wat is a World Heritage Site since 1992, famous for its beauty and splendor. Angkor Wat features the longest continuous bas-relief in the world, which runs along the outer gallery walls and narrates stories from Hindu mythology, visit Bakheng Temple and enjoy a romantic sun set view form Bakheng Hills. Dinner and enjoy with Aspara Dance Show at local restaurant,

Day 4: SIEM REAP – SIGHTSEEING TOURS(B/-/-)

AM: This morning, we drive to Kbal Spean. Walk 45 minutes through the forest to the top of the hill to reach Kbal Spean, the “Thousand Linga River.” Discover the 10th-12th century sculptures chiseled into the rocky riverbed, the Royal Bath and the waterfall. Continue to the enchanting temple of the Banteay Srei, nearly everyone’s favorite site. The special charm of this temple lies in its compact size, remarkable state of preservation, and the excellence of it decorative carvings, visit Banteay Samre. Picnic lunch will be reserved. Return to Siem Reap at the afternoon

PM: We embark on Ox cart to visiting the Khmer Village and enjoy view of the rice field and a lots of palm trees with great fresh air. We board on boat in Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. Here, enjoy a brief cruise past floating villages complete with schools, restaurants, and hospitals

Day 5: SIEM REAP – Departure (B/-)

AM: Visit Ta Prohm, one of the area?s most beautiful temples. Ta Prohm has been relatively untouched since it was discovered and retains much of its mystery. Day 1: Arrival – HANOI (-/-/-)
Meet on arrival at Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport and transfer to the city, which retains an air of French colonial period despite wide scale rebuilding after the war. Transfer to hotel for check-in. Rest of day at leisure. O/N in Hanoi.

DAY 2: HANOI (B/-/-)
Begin your exploration of the capital with the city center, comprised of traditional pagodas and temples, colonial villas, and lakes set along tree-lined streets which move at pace much more congenial than Saigon. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Monday, Friday & whole November), and One Pillar Pagoda. Continue to the Army Museum, the nearby flag tower and finish by visiting the Temple of Literature, well known as Vietnam’s first university. O/N in Hanoi.

DAY 3: HANOI – HUE (B/-/-)
At leisure until transfer to Hanoi domestic airport for flight to Hue, the former Royal City of the 13 ruling Nguyen dynasties. Visit the Imperial Citadel and recall the battle of Hue during the Tet Offensive, when the NVA held the city for 3 weeks. O/N in Hue.

DAY 4: HUE – KHE SANH – VINH MOC – HUE (B/-/-)
Drive to visit the other sites of the former firece battle fields on the DMZ including the former American bases of Rock Piles, Camp Carol and Khe Sanh. Take a short walk on the Ho Chi Minh trail (now under process to be the second trans-Vietnam traffic line). Continue to view the war-torn ruins of the Quang Tri church and the wreckage of an American tank. Then visit the Vinh Moc tunnels, dug to accommodate an underground village safe from American air raids in the north of the DMZ. Take a short photo stop at the Hien Luong Bridge crossing Ben Hai River, the former borderline between the north and south Vietnam, and the site of the former Doc Mieu artilery base on the way to Dong Ha. Return to Hue for O/N.

DAY 5: HUE – DANANG (B/-/-)
Leave Hue for Danang, the fourth largest city of Vietnam. City tour, recalling the chaos of march 1975, when the Saigon government abandoned Danang and countless refugees fled the city. Also visit the beach where the US marines first came ashore, beginning major American involvement in Indochina. Arrival & check-in at hotel. O/N in Danang.

DAY 6: DANANG – CHU LAI – QUY NHON (B/-/-)
Morning visit to Hoi An. During the 16th century traders stopped at this port when traveling en route to Malacca in Malaysia. Continue on the coastal plain to Chu Lai Air Base and see the work of the Skyhawks. Stop at the Son My district, scene of My Lai Incident. Travel along the rugged Animate mountains down to Route 1, sarcastically referred to as “the street with joy” by French soldiers. Evening arrive in Quy Nhon, a major port and supply depot that kept Route 1 open during the war. O/N in Quy Nhon.

DAY 7: QUY NHON – NHA TRANG (B/-/-)
Leave Quy Nhon for Nha Trang, once the headquarters of the US Fifth Special Forces group in the second Corps. Arrival Nha Trang, rest of the day at leisure. O/N in Nha Trang.

DAY 8: NHA TRANG – DA LAT (B/-/-)
Enjoy the turquoise water and fine sand beach. Take a boat to nearby Bamboo island for snorkeling, to the Mieu island for a visit to a fish breeding farm and to the Cham tower of Ponagar, a fine example of 2nd century Cham architecture. Depart Nha Trang for Dalat, a cool mountain resort. Its lakes, waterfalls, evergreen forest and gardens make Dalat one of the most enjoyable places in Vietnam. Visit the Central market and Xuan Huong Lake. O/N in Da Lat.

DAY 9: DA LAT – HO CHI MINH CITY (B/-/-)
Depart Dalat for Ho Chi Minh City, stop over to visit a silk farm and mulberry plantations. Evening arrive in Saigon, the former capital of South Vietnam, which retains much flavor from the war era. O/N in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 10: HO CHI MINH CITY (B/-/-)
Among the sights of graceful women in Ao Dai and bustling streets, visit the busy riverfront, the former Presidential Palace, photo stop at the former US Embassy, the Notre Dame Cathedral and the central market. In the afternoon, visit some of the war remnants such as the site where a Buddhist monk immolated himself in protest of the war and the church where President Diem was assassinated. O/N in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 11: HO CHI MINH CITY – IRON TRIANGLE – CU CHI TUNNELS (B/-/-)
This morning travel on National Route 13 past the town of Phu Cuong. Visit Phu Loi base, used to relocate villagers. Trough the Cau Dinh jungle, pass a staging area of the 503rd Airbone Brigade. At Ben Cat, see the site of the bases of the 173rd Airborne and the 11th Armored Cavalry. Arrive in Ben Suc, the Northern tip of the iron Triangle, and continue to Dau Tieng Reservoir and the esoteric Cao Dai temple at Tay Ninh. Visit the restored tunnels at Cu Chi before returning to Ho Chi Minh City. O/N in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 12: HO CHI MINH CITY (B/-/-)
Enjoy a free day in Ho Chi Minh City. O/N in Ho Chi Minh City.

DAY 13: HO CHI MINH CITY – Departure (B/-/-)
Leisure time until transfer to Tan Son Nhat Airport for departure flight.
